Massive Berlin aquarium that housed 1500 tropical fish bursts
The world's largest free-standing aquarium burst - destroying the lobby of the a hotel and pouring out one million litres of water.
Footage shows the 46-foot-tall aquarium empty, with only the frame still standing and the lobby of the hotel completely destroyed, with water still streaming from one of the walls.
The aquarium at the Berlin Radisson Blu burst at around 5:50am this morning - leaving two injured by shards of glass.
The tank contained more than one million litres of water and 1,500 tropical fish, which reached the outside of the complex, prompting police to close nearby Karl-Liebknecht street.
More than 100 emergency workers attended the scene and canine units were deployed to find any hotel guests that may have been trapped under the debris.
The cause of the incident is still being investigated, but there is currently no evidence that it was the result of an attack.
Berlin Police said on Twitter: "In addition to the unbelievable maritime damage… two people were injured by glass splinters."
It was given the Guinness World Record for the world's largest cylindrical aquarium and cost £11.2m to build.
