Parts of London's Underground network were packed with pants-less passengers for the first No Trousers on the Tube event since the pandemic began.

The event, also known as the No Trousers Tube Ride, happened on Sunday 8 January and drew hundreds of enthusiastic trouser non-wearers.

Some were spotted without their trousers outside the Tube network too, including in Chinatown, where police kept a watchful eye on them as they passed.

The event, which organisers claim is intended to amuse not offend, has its origins in New York City in 2002, where it was called the No Pants Subway Ride.

While attendees are encouraged to ditch the trousers, small or see-through underwear is banned.

It is not organised or promoted by the operator of the Tube network.
