Watch an explosive bird fight that sees a grey pigeon pick the wrong dad to take on.

Dr Motti Charter, wildlife ecologist based in Haifa, Israel, captured this crazy pigeon fight on a nest camera.

An intrusive male pigeon attempted to take over a nest on 26 September, but little did he know that the nest was occupied by a pigeon pair that has two nestlings.

The white dad pigeon returned to the nest after searching for food for his nestlings and fought valiantly to protect his home.

Dr Motti said: "Wow, that was one long fight.

"The Dad looked like he was going to lose but stuck it out and defended his nest.

"The pigeon's two babies witnessed the whole fight.

"If their father had lost the fight then they would likely have been killed or abandoned to die from starvation."
