A woman wanted to capture her mum’s reaction to seeing her tattoo for the first time but actually captured her mum pranking her. 

Sydney Held, 23, got a tattoo dedicated to her mum, 52-year-old Sonia, of the year she was born and wanted to capture her reaction to it, so set up a camera at her home in El Paso, Texas on September 24. 

However, as Sonia walked into the room she spotted the camera and decided to pull a prank on Sydney. 

As Sydney showed Sonia the tattoo, her mum asked why she got that tattooed on her and tricked her into believing she got the year wrong. 

After a couple of minutes of confused discussion between the duo, Sonia finally revealed she was only joking and that she in fact loves the tattoo. 

Sydney said: “I was trying to do a tattoo reveal for my mom but she saw the camera and assumed I was pranking her, so she turned it into a prank on me and said I got the wrong year tattooed.

“I was stunned and embarrassed at first before I realised she was only joking. 

“People thought it was brilliant and funny.”
