And once again, the town of Capitola faced the brunt of a catastrophic storm.
And this time, the rupturing high tide ended up claiming the town's historic wharf by splitting it into two, along with causing noticeable damage to the surrounding areas.
"A drone view of the destruction left in the wake of the January 5, 2023 storm in Capitola, CA," the filmer, Sean Burau shared with WooGlobe. "Unusually powerful and large waves caused significant damage to both the Capitola Wharf and the buildings on shore.
"Cleanup crews worked on closed streets to try and repair as much as possible before the arrival of the next storm front."
Guess it's a fitting time to restate that "nature is metal."
