Chinese New Year celebrations in Porto, Portugal

The city of Porto hosted this year and for the first time the official Chinese New Year celebrations in Portugal, with the city mayor stating that the community is today “perfectly integrated” in the city's social, economic, and cultural fabric.
On the afternoon of January 20, the mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, received the Chinese ambassador to Portugal, Zhao Bentang, and various representatives of the local Chinese community in the City Hall.
Under a sunny afternoon and to the sound of drums, a Dragon Dance performed entirely by Portuguese from the She-Si School of Martial Arts, walked through the entrance to the municipality and then down to Praça General Humberto Delgado, where dozens of people awaited.
