When this 90-year-old "abuelita" (grandma), Estefania Diaz Alvarez, shared with her family that she had never had a birthday mariachi, they knew they had to make it happen. After all, life is short, and celebrating milestones is what makes life worth living. Even though her beloved husband had passed away over five years ago, her family wanted to make sure that she felt loved and cherished on her special day.

So, they organized a surprise birthday celebration that she would never forget. As soon as the mariachi band started playing, Estefania was overcome with emotion. She couldn't believe that after all these years, she was finally experiencing her first birthday serenade.

Tears of joy streamed down her face as she listened to the music and felt the love and warmth of her family, her oldest daughter Berthalicia Campos, including her granddaughter, Jessica Parra who filmed this video, around her. And the surprises didn't stop there. Later the family revealed a stunning fiesta that they had planned for her.

Even though life has its ups and downs, moments like this remind us of the joy and love that can be found in even the simplest of things. Happy 90th birthday, Abuelita, Estefania!

After my grandpas passing more than five years ago my grandma gets her first birthday mariachi to celebrate her 90th birthday

The story behind this video is that my grandma just told us this year that she never had a mariachi for her birthday before. But because she was in and out of the country from Mexico and living with other relatives, we never really had a chance to ask. The last time she ever got serenata was from my grandma years before he past. This is why it hit her so hard.

And because it’s the big 90 and we aren’t promised tomorrow I decided to go big and also have a surprise fiesta
