Tornadoes and hail battered northern Vietnam on Sunday (May 7) damaging homes.

Footage captured in the Cao Bang region showed large hailstones pummelling roofs amid powerful winds.

The extreme weather damaged hundreds of homes and uprooted trees, according to local reports.

Although there were no human casualties, approximately 2,000 hectares of crops were hit.

Video captured the moment of Terrible hailstorms and tornadoes hitting many houses in the northern mountainous region of Cao Bang, Vietnam.
According to locals, a tornado appeared, and then hail hit and devastated their area. Stones ranging in size from 3cm - 5cm fell on their roof causing the roof to be punctured. Strong winds caused many roofs to be blown off.
The terrible hailstorm lasted for more than 15 minutes, causing hundreds of houses to have roof damage. Thousands of trees were broken.
Approximately 2,000 hectares of crops are estimated to be affected. Luckily there were no human casualties.
