E-bike riding grandma steals show at the Giro d'Italia!
This is the heartwarming moment a woman on an e-bike stole the show at the Giro d'Italia cycling race in Bergamo.
"Fans in Bergamo are waiting for the Giro d'Italia when a special rider enters the scene. And the 'tifosi' [fans] go crazy for her!" Newsflare's filmer said of the heartwarming incident, which occurred on May 21.
The woman is seen cycling up a narrow street flanked by spectators. They cheer her on, making a huge noise. Embarrassed, she puts her scarf in front of her face for a short while.
In a writeup of the video, cycling website road.cc quipped: "When you pop out to the shops and end up in the Giro d'Italia — e-bike-riding 'nonna' [grandma] steals the show ...
"Sorry, Brandon McNulty, Ben Healy, Marco Frigo and the rest, but there was only one real hero on yesterday's Giro stage ..."
A mountain time trial takes place on Saturday as part of Giro d'Italia. It's not confirmed if everyone's favourite 'nonna' will be taking part!
