Ukrainian protesters and other supporters paid their respects to the Ukrainian people’s 500 days of courage, heroism, and resilience at a rally outside Sydney Town Hall. They grieved for the many lives taken on the front line, and the killing of thousands of innocent civilians. In the first week of February 2022, it was anticipated by pessimists that Ukraine would last a day, while optimists, including Putin and the Russian war machine, were sure that Ukraine would collapse in three days. But 500 days on, the Ukrainian people have shown the world they are willing to fight, until victory, for their country, culture, identity and freedom.
