Creepy CCTV footage has emerged from the UK of wheelie bins flying across a driveway in a poltergeist-like manner.

In the video, taken from CCTV cameras on November 29, the wheelie bin lids creepily blow open, in the wind, and then the bins lurch across the driveway.

The uploader later wrote online: "After returning from holiday to find the front of the house scattered with rubbish and wheelie bins, local youths or a prank were suspected.

"What was not expected was the amazing video recording of the event which was subsequently found."

"All three of the next door neighbours' wheelie bins simultaneously had their lids blown open and then the bins were lifted over the wall and over the neighbouring wheelie bins by an unbelievably strong gust of wind," he continued.

"Fortunately the car that was normally parked on the driveway had been moved at the time."
