Mosquito Tornado Spotted In Chengdu, Sichuan, China

In this video, we can see several “tornadoes” swirling on a river bank.
This video was taken by Guo Feng on 2nd June, 2023 at a river bank of Chengdu, Sichuan province in China.
In a late afternoon, there were swirling dark tornadoes on a vast expanse of green grass. These "tornadoes" were thin and long, stretching into the sky. Upon closer inspection, it turned out that each tornado was formed by thousands of mosquitoes.
Some netizens jokingly referred to this phenomenon as mosquitoes having a meeting. However, the reason why mosquitoes gather in such a manner remains a mystery.
