A woman is travelling around Asia with her dog in tow – and the "best friends" even share a pillow."

Emily Frampton, 27, has been exploring the Philippines with her cockapoo, Luna, five, since they flew out together in December 2022.

Emily and her pooch have been tied at the hip since she got her during her second year of business management at the London School of Economics in 2017.

They even travelled around Europe together in summer 2019 - visiting France, Spain, Andora, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia together.

After Emily travelled to Thailand in December 2021, she knew she wanted to take Luna along next time she went away – realising it was more possible than she thought to bring dogs to Asia.

Emily researched and planned where she could take Luna and the pair flew out in December 2022 to Manila, Philippines.

The pair have spent the last seven months island hopping and have kayaked, paddle boarded and snorkelled together – and even share a pillow.

Emily plans to take Luna to see Thailand and Indonesia when they have exhausted the Philippines.

Emily, a freelancer who helps start ups, originally from Leicester, Leicestershire, said: "It definitely is crazy bringing your dog to Asia."

"She’s my best friend."

"I couldn’t go without her."

"We share a pillow."

"It makes me super happy seeing her happy."

Emily got Luna in her second year of university and scouted out every venue she could take her too – so she was never left alone.

She said: "People thought I was crazy."

"She comes everywhere with me – to pubs, clubs and bars."

"I know everywhere in London that allows dogs."

A keen traveller, Emily wanted to make sure Luna could come sightseeing with her and has taken her on staycations around the UK since she was a puppy - such as the Lake and Peak district.

In summer 2019 the pair drove out to Europe and spent two months exploring France, Spain, Andora, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia together.

They stayed in a mixture of campsites and Airbnbs along the way.

When restrictions lifted after the pandemic, Emily was itching to get away and escaped the UK winter - heading Thailand in December 2021 – this time leaving Luna behind with her family.

She said: "I hate winter. I hate the rain and love the sun."

"I went to Singapore and Thailand over Christmas 2021, and I didn’t bring Luna."

"I didn’t think you could bring a dog."

"When I was there, I really missed Luna."

While out there, Emily realised it might be possible to bring her pup.

She said: "I didn’t want to put Luna’s life at risk."

Emily researched the vaccines Luna needed to be able to travel and the countries that it would be possible to take her too.

They flew out in December 2022 to the west side of the Philippines and have been exploring the islands together ever since.

Emily said: "My suitcase is tiny."

"She had a giant travel bag with her favourite toys."

"It’s crystal clear waters."

"I’m trying to teach Luna to surf. It’s not going super successfully."

"She leaps into the water. She loves digging the sand."

Emily and Luna have been staying in Airbnbs and have had a "slower pace" of travelling due to the heat."

Emily is working as a freelancer for start-ups while travelling and plans to stay in Asia until at least next year.

She said: "Everyone is so lovely and so happy to see us."

"Everyone says this is something you do with a significant other – but I am doing it with my dog."

"I don’t think you could do this with every dog. I would never risk Luna’s life."

"But I’m living proof you can do it."

Emily said any future man would have to love Luna and the importance in her life said this is a "non-negotiable"."
