Ireland: Long Lines Outside Bank Of Ireland ATMs After Glitch Allows Withdrawals, Fund Transfers Above Account Balance 3
Queues of people formed outside Bank of Ireland ATMs after news of a systems glitch allowing withdrawals and fund transfers more than the account balance went trending on social media on Tuesday night.
According to reports, one of the glitches allowed customers with low balances or no money in their account to transfer up to 1,000 euros to a linked account over the bank's online app. The transferred amount could then be withdrawn at an ATM.
