Runaway pet lemur leads Missouri cops on eventful chase
This is the moment when two police officers, with the Springfield Police Department, successfully apprehend a runaway pet lemur, with the assistance of concerned bystanders.
The incident occurred after an unidentified caller reported spotting the loose lemur near the intersection of Kimbrough and Woodland in Springfield, Missouri, on September 12.
In a brief but eventful chase, the officers managed to capture the lemur and wrapped it in a towel to ensure its safety. Following this, Springfield-Greene County Animal Control arrived at the scene and took custody of the lemur to ensure its well-being.
Subsequently, the authorities were able to establish a connection between the lemur and a local family through a Facebook post. The police emphasized that owning a lemur or any other wild animal in Springfield is illegal.
