Hair-raising footage recorded from the 9th floor of a hotel in Palma Nova, Mallorca shows a severe storm spoiling the guest's vacation.

"Initially, it was cloudy but not raining, and then within five minutes, a hurricane/tornado hit," the filmer, Sophie Lyons, told WooGlobe. "There were people sunbathing and swimming in the pool at the time."

The scenes on display couldn't have been more chilling. With the trees intensely swaying and the poolside furniture either flying or being dragged across the floor due to the unprecedented wind pressure, the storm was undoubtedly a force of nature.

"Our flight home was canceled and we were stuck in the airport until we eventually got back to Ireland two days later," the filmer added.
