When British writer-director Gareth Edwards started writing The Creator some four or five years ago, “flying cars or living on the moon” was just “this science fiction dream”. The idea of seemingly-sentient, highly intelligent AI was the stuff of sci-fi, not something that could be a plausible glimpse into our near future.
