Paris driving WTF?! Organised chaos at the Arc de Triomphe roundabout-without-rules

Buy video

The phrase 'organised chaos' was surely invented by someone who had witnessed the traffic circling Paris' Arc de Triomphe monument.

Video shot from the top of the world-famous arch shows cars, bikes and even pedestrians jostling for space, seemingly in random directions, and yet incredibly making it out in one piece.

The 12-exit roundabout has no marked lanes or traffic lights, making it look like total chaos but which might be key to its success -- without drivers having clear rules to determine who is in the right and the wrong, they have to proceed with a degree of caution and trust that others will do the same.

Or maybe it's just bonkers. You decide.
