China: Village In Qinghai Swallowed By Cascading Waves Of Mud Triggered By Gansu Earthquake

On December 19th, the 6.2-magnitude earthquake that had hit Jishishan, Gansu triggered a sand boil in a region of neighboring Qinghai Province.

Video filmed on December 20 in Jintian Village, Haidong City, Qinghai shows houses buried by waves of mud exceeding 3 meters in height, with only the roofs exposed to the air.

According to local reports, as of December 24, the earthquake in Haidong claimed the lives of 32 individuals, while 2 individuals are still reported missing. Rescue and reconstruction efforts are still underway.
