In a targeted raid, the 401st Brigade, along with the Shaldag Unit and Yahalom Combat Engineering Unit, successfully secured control of Hamas' intelligence and control center located in Gaza City. The Eastern Military Post, a strategic Hamas stronghold consisting of 37 buildings, was the focal point of the operation. Situated in the midst of Gaza's civilian population, near hospitals, schools, and homes, the post served as an operational command and control hub for Hamas.

During the operation, forces uncovered an underground Hamas control bunker, 20 meters deep, housing operational rooms and hideouts for the organization's leaders. The area scans revealed numerous weapons and communication devices. The Shaked Battalion discovered five interconnected tunnel shafts leading to the underground control center compound. In close-quarter combat, the Shaldag Unit eliminated enemy forces, while the 601st Battalion and Yahalom Engineering Forces destroyed the entire tunnel route.

The 52nd Battalion identified an incriminated building during operations, engaging Hamas members in targeted raids. The combat extended to other buildings within the Eastern Military Post, resulting in the elimination of a terrorist squad in close-quarter combat. Unfortunately, in the line of duty, IDF soldiers Captain Yaron Eliezer Chitiz, Staff Sergeant Efraim Tachman, and Staff Sergeant Itay Buton lost their lives.
