A pregnant woman living in Paraparaumu, New Zealand, played a cunning prank on her younger siblings by pretending her waters had broken whilst at home.

After setting up her phone on the fridge, she pours some water on the floor, hunches over and begins shouting "oh my god".

Her siblings, 15, 16, and 18, come rushing in and instantly set into panic mode, frantically scrambling around the house trying to figure out what to do.

The woman's youngest siblings desperately try to find the car keys before realising their car wasn't at home.

The eldest brother, who was sleeping, was then alerted and immediately started his truck to drive his pregnant sister to the hospital.

Uncontrollably laughing, the woman then revealed to her stressed siblings that it was a prank.

The children's mother told Newsflare: "All three teens genuinely believed their sister was going into labour.

"During the chaos, my son in the black hoodie is trying to calm the situation and call me on his phone while his little sister is in full panic mode.

"My eldest daughter can no longer contain the urge to laugh yet her siblings still don’t realise it’s a prank until the very end when my eldest daughter tells them she is joking.

"They will never forget this moment.

"This is the first grandchild in our family and my children are very excited to meet their baby nephew soon."

On a warm Saturday morning, December 30th 2023, my two youngest teens were both gaming while my eldest daughter planned to prank her siblings. Waiting for me to leave the house, my eldest daughter sets up her phone on the fridge to capture her pranking her siblings by pretending her waters have broken. She spills water on the floor for added effect before saying “Oh My God”. My youngest teen is first to the scene and is in shock when she realises there is water on the floor and she goes into panic mode. Her brother hears the commotion and he instantly calls “mum” “mum” before remembering that I’m not home. The two youngest teens then attempt to find my daughter’s car keys before my daughters explains that her car is gone. They realise our truck is still at home, neither of them can drive a manual vehicle but don’t want to deliver a baby at home. The second brother who was still sleeping is alerted and calls to his sister to “come” to the truck and walks straight to the truck to start it and drive to the hospital. All three teens genuinely believed their sister was going into labour.
