A woman has saved $40k on healthcare by travelling abroad to visit the dentist, get Botox and even get her hair done.

Bryn Elise Wright, 29, started looking abroad for cheaper treatments after her hair dresser in Idaho quoted her $4.5k for her hair extensions.

She decided to travel to Istanbul in Turkey – and was charged just $500.

Bryn couldn’t believe the cheap price and started seeing what other health and beauty treatments she could save on by travelling.

She chipped a tooth while travelling in Bali, Thailand, and had the treatment for $70 – and said she would have been charged $600 to $700 in the US.

Bryn also had Botox treatment for just $140 by travelling to

Istanbul, Turkey instead of $700 to $800 in the USA.

She had laser hair removal in Paris France – costing just $400 instead of the $2k price in the US.

She estimates she has saved $40k in the last three years by going abroad for her healthcare - saving $10k on her hair, $10k on her dentist treatments and another $20k on a hospital stay for a flu bug.

Bryn, an Amazon reseller, from Westminster, Colorado, has been travelling on and off for the last three years with her boyfriend, Cody Jorgenson, 36.

She used to schedule any healthcare she needed during scheduled trips home to the USA, but now often chooses her next travel destinations based on places she can get cheap treatments she needs.

Bryn said: "I thought I’m going to make a point of getting things done abroad."

"On hair extensions alone I’ve saved at least $10k."

"That’s with me living it up and travelling."

"I’ve saved another $10k on dental treatments."

Bryn first started going abroad to save money after finding out the price hike to get her hair done in summer 2021.

She said: "I was getting hair extensions done in Idaho – they had raised their prices to $4,500. It was astronomical."

"I started thinking about other options. I started looking abroad."

"I found a guy on Instagram that looked amazing. I reached out to him and he said he’d do it for $500."

"I thought there was a miscommunication at first. We worked it into our travel plans."

"It went wonderfully."

"I was blown away."

She has had several dental treatments done abroad – including a new crown and deep cleaning in Turkey costing just $240 – which would have cost $1,800 in the US.

When her and Cody fell ill in Thailand they spent 24 hours in a hospital – costing them just $120 each.

Bryn said she wouldn’t even have gone to hospital if she’d been in America as the bill would have likely cost - $10k to $20k.

She said: "I wouldn’t have gone to hospital if I’d been at home."

She had Botox done Istanbul, Turkey and saved $786.

Bryn said: "It ended up being awesome. The doctor was a pro."

Bryn has since been back to get hair done three times and wants to continue travelling and trying out cheap beauty treatments.

She said: "Let me be the guinea pig."

"I spend months doing the research."

Bryn and Cody have visited 14 countries over the last three years.

She said: "It’s saved me tonnes of money."

"We’re onto something. People are blown away you get it that cheap."
