After the Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg game against Middlesbrough at Riverside Stadium, Thiago Silva approached away fans upon hearing some unpleasant remarks, attempting to address the situation.

This incident followed Carrick's team securing a 1-0 victory against Pochettino's Chelsea. Fans, who had traveled all the way from London, were irate as they not only witnessed a team sitting 12th in the Championship defeat Chelsea but also keep a clean sheet.
