The National Weather Service reported that "periods of rain, mountain snow and possible thunderstorms will continue through at least Tuesday night and possibly into Thursday morning."

The rains may be scarcer or localized in some places with shorter periods of duration. The NWS expects conditions to be dry and cold through the weekend.

A flash flood watch will be in effect Monday afternoon for much of Los Angeles County as the winter storm moves slowly into Southern California.

Currently, the flash flood warning was extended until 9 p.m. for the areas of Santa Clarita, Santa Susana, San Fernando, Calabazas, La Cañada, Glendale and Arcadia.
