The video, filmed in California in March 2016, shows the vlogger scratching the brand new handset with a large blade before smashing it repeatedly with 1.1 kg small sledgehammer.
The phone actually holds up remarkably well, but at the end of the video it gets very hot and begins hissing as the battery suffers damage.
