Pilot and passenger uninjured after plane crashes nose first into beach after emergency landing
A plane crashed nose first into a beach after an emergency landing, but everyone onboard escaped uninjured.
Victoria Caldano was on Cedar Beach, New York, USA, on May 1 to watch the sunset when at around 7.30pm a low flying plane appeared.
Victoria originally thought the Cessna 152 ‘was going to do tricks’ but when the aircraft landed on the beach it didn’t stop.
The plane eventually came to a halt when the nose dived into the sand, causing it to stand upright with its tail in the air.
Victoria said: “I was just there because I went to watch the sunset. I live on Long Island so it’s nice to have a beach 20 minutes away.
“I thought they were landing or were going to do tricks so that’s why I took my phone out to record.”
According to the reports the 60-year-old pilot and his passenger, 59, walked away without any injuries.
The duo had reported engine failure just before landing on the Suffolk County beach, New York.
