The incident took place in Baoding, in Hebei Province, on June 17, with the video showing the dog inside the barrel of murky brown sauce with its front paws on the side of the container, looking surprisingly pleased with itself.

The pooch's owner said: 'My dog​​ likes to jump around, but I didn't expect it to fall into the sauce jar. I threw away the sauce, but I couldn't bear to beat the dog, and i had to give it four baths to clean it.'
