On July 6, 2024, in Rangiora, New Zealand, witnesses reported seeing a blue car driving dangerously and cutting off other vehicles. The same car later failed to merge properly and tailgated Chantelle Baker. When Chantelle slowed to a safe speed, the driver threw an object at her car, where her 8-month-old baby was asleep in the back seat.

After spotting the car on Main Street, Chantelle stopped to photograph the license plate. Both female occupants of the blue car then attacked her, shattering her windshield and opening her car doors.

The blue car had been seen earlier in the day cutting off cars and driving dangerously. Witnesses have come forward that are testifying with police as to their earlier behaviour. The blue car failed to merge properly after an intersection and then tailgated Chantelle Baker. When Chantelle slowed her car to a safe speed the driver of the blue car threw an object at Chantelle’s and hit her car with her 8 month old baby asleep in the back seat. The driver then took a side road and Chantelle managed to find them a few minutes later in the towns Main Street. When she pulled over to get a photo of their licence both females inside of the car rushed at her destroying her windscreen and opening both doors of the car with Chantelle’s baby asleep in his car seat in the back. Chantelle immediately reversed and exited the area driving straight to the local Rangiora Police Station with bleeding hands from the glass in the car and over her steering wheel.
