An earthquake struck Kern County, California Tuesday night, August 6, followed by several aftershocks.

The quake was magnitude 5.2 and centered in Lamont, southeast of Bakersfield, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Shaking was felt across Los Angeles and down into Orange County.
