TikToker 'dithset' and her friend Matt had an unforgettable experience that garnered over 8 million views. After being dropped by a float plane into the remote wilderness of grizzly bear country, they biked through rugged mountains and valleys, ever watchful for wildlife.

While trailing behind their group, 'dithset' spotted what she initially thought was a grizzly. As the creature moved up the mountain, it became clear that it was a massive wolf.

I recently embarked on a 3-day mountain bike packing trip in the South Chilcotins of British Columbia. We took a float plane into the heart of the wilderness and biked our way over rugged mountains, passes, and valleys back to civilization. The closest town to our starting point has a population of just 69 people, underscoring the remoteness of our journey.

Given that this is grizzly bear country, we were always on high alert. While we carried bear spray for safety, hoping never to need it, there was a part of us that hoped to see these majestic creatures from a safe distance. The thrill of spotting wildlife in its natural habitat is unparalleled.

On this particular trip, my friend Matt and I were trailing behind the other three members of our group when I spotted what I initially thought was a grizzly bear. Its enormous size, especially in comparison to the surrounding landscape, made it look like a grizzly. As we observed it moving up the mountain, its shape and movement patterns began to reveal that it was, in fact, a wolf.

The realization that this incredibly large creature was a wolf, not a grizzly, was both surprising and exhilarating. Grizzlies are generally considerably bigger than wolves, so seeing a wolf of such impressive size was a unique and memorable experience. It was thrilling to witness such a majestic animal, especially when it was something I hadn’t anticipated encountering on this trip.
