In a harrowing incident that has shaken a Houston community, an eight-month-pregnant woman, Mrs. Garza, was subjected to a terrifying home invasion where she was threatened at knifepoint by an intruder. The incident, which occurred on August 15, was captured on the family's surveillance camera, revealing the intruder's disregard for her condition.

Mrs. Garza, who requested anonymity for her safety, recounted the ordeal to the media. She was asleep in her east Houston home when she awoke to find a man in her bedroom. Despite her pleas and her visibly pregnant state, the intruder showed no mercy, pushing her back onto the bed and warning her against any resistance.

"He didn’t care at all," Mrs. Garza shared, her voice still trembling with fear. "Even though you can see my belly, he wasn’t listening."

The intruder, armed with a knife, proceeded to rummage through their belongings. When Mrs. Garza attempted to escape downstairs, he chased her, grabbed her, and put her in a chokehold. Screaming for help and emphasizing her pregnancy, she was finally able to break free and run outside, where she continued to scream until the intruder fled.

The suspect escaped with several valuables, including Mrs. Garza's wedding ring and phone. Her husband, Cesar Garza, expressed relief at his wife's safety but concern for what the suspect might do next. "I really want him to get caught because he did this in broad daylight and wasn't afraid to put his hands on a pregnant woman," he said.

The Garzas believe the intruder entered through an unlocked back window, a detail that has led them to significantly enhance their home security. Despite these measures, Mrs. Garza confessed, "I was safer, felt safer in El Salvador than how I felt that day in my own house."

With her due date approaching, Mrs. Garza remains hopeful for her son's safety, whom they plan to name Kai, meaning "warrior." A $5,000 Crime Stoppers reward has been offered for information leading to the suspect's arrest.

"Please, say something if you know whoever that person is," Mrs. Garza pleaded, her voice a mix of fear and determination.

The suspect is described as a man between 45 and 50 years old, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing around 145 pounds, with a gray goatee. He was last seen wearing a black short-sleeved shirt, a ballcap, and black gloves.
