Roswell, New Mexico, received 5.78 inches of rain on Saturday, October 19. This record-breaking amount, surpassing the previous record of 5.65 inches from November 1, 1901, caused severe flooding. According to reports, at least 2 people were killed, while about 290 were rescued, including 38 who were taken to hospitals.
