This is the shocking moment a bottle of cleaning solution suddenly exploded in an office.

A worker was struggling to open the lid of a pink tumbler containing chemicals in Guangdong, China, on October 24.

CCTV footage shows the employee walking towards his colleague to chat, when moments later, the container he was holding exploded, shooting towards the ceiling.

The pair can be seen flinching upon hearing the loud blast.

Fortunately, no one was reported to have been injured in the incident.

Many cleaning solutions contain chemicals that can produce gases or vapours over time. In a tightly sealed container, this can lead to pressure build-up, which may cause the container to rupture or explode.
