Surrey, Canada - May 05, 2024 Surrey Pretrial Detention Centre Holding Jan 6 Rioter Anthony Vo while he awaits deportation back to the United States. Vo, 32 was arrested in Whistler, British Columbia several weeks ago after failing to report as ordered to a jail in the United States. He had been sentenced and ordered to report to a US jail after sentencing as per his involvement in the January 6 insurrection at the White House. As a fugitive from US justice, Vo started making social media postings of himself at the world-famous ski resort 2 hours from Vancouver. After his arrest, he filed for asylum in Canada but has since claimed he will withdraw the application on news of being pardoned by President Donald J Trump. Canadian authorities claim to have no official record of Vo's arrival in the country and can only assume at this time that he arrived with false documents or through illegally crossing the border. Canadian authorities continue to investigate how Vo crossed into Canada. Although Vo could be deported as early as next week, there could be a change if law enforcement and immigration officials find evidence of Vo using fraudulent documents to gain access into the country.
