San Jose de Ocoa, Dominican Republic - January 28, 2025 [WARNING: video contains profanity] San Jose de Ocoa, Dominican Republic – On January 25, a spectacular meteor streaked across the night sky in San Jose de Ocoa, as seen in a video shared by X user Philly Made Rai. The meteor, which lasted 10-15 seconds, illuminated the sky with bright green, blue, and purple hues as it broke into pieces above the viewer. The meteor's explosive path caught Rai by surprise, who had enough time to pull out their phone and record the rare sight. At exactly 7:05 pm, the meteor blazed across the sky, leaving a trail of light over the La Colina area. "I just caught the craziest meteor EVER," Rai said in the video post. "It lasted for so long that I had time to pull my phone out and record."
