London, UK. 10 February 2025. Members of the farming community with tractors drive past the Houses of Parliament after a protest in Westminster objecting to the government’s inheritance tax plans which could significantly impact family-owned farms. In the Autumn Budget, presented by Rachel Reeves, Chancellor of the Exchequer, Agricultural Property Relief (APR) will be limited thereby reducing tax relief on inherited land. Protesters say that it will be increasingly difficult to pass farms down through generations due to additional tax costs.
