A water dog sports instructor leads the dog Cesare through a course of buoys in a large pool filled with water during Quattrozampeinfiera, the promotional event for pet lovers. Also this year the Roman edition of Quattrozampeinfiera (four paws at the fair), the fair dedicated to four-legged friends, ended with a great public success. Quattrozampeinfiera is a promotional event for the pet economy, an experiential fair dedicated to pet lovers. According to the latest Eurispes Italy 2024 Report, in almost one in four homes in Italy we find at least one pet. 20.3% of those who have an animal with them spend less than 30 euros per month for its care and maintenance. About 60% of Italians, however, spend more than 30 euros and less than 100 euros per month. Pets are mostly rescued from the streets or chosen from a kennel/cat shelter/similar (39.7%), but in one case out of four (25%) it was a purchase in a shop or breeder, while in one case out of five it was a gift (20.8%). According to the latest Assalco (National Association of Companies for the Food and Care of Pets) - Zoomark Report, in 2023, the Italian market for dog and cat food products developed a turnover that exceeded 3 billion euros.
