11/02/2025 - Rome, Italy. Demonstrators protest under the Lazio Region building during the demonstration organized by the associations of the regional mental health network in front of the headquarters of the Lazio Region. On the day in which the Catholic Church celebrates the World Day of the Sick, the managers, operators, families and guests of some psychiatric rehabilitation communities in Lazio protest in front of the headquarters of the Lazio Region to loudly demand the adjustment of the daily rates that the Region pays for each patient. The adjustment of the rates, which have been unchanged since 2009, is necessary to maintain the staff needed to guarantee a quality standard adequate to the therapeutic path that each patient must face to overcome and/or learn to manage the disease.
During the event, some representatives of the Coordinamento Comunità Salute Lazio, the group of Associations that organized the event, were received by some Managers of the Lazio Region. The meeting ended with the request to the Coordinamento Comunità Salute Lazio for some data with the promise by the regional administrators to provide for the determination of the new rates within 15 days after receiving the requested documentation.
