Fans in Brazil went wild on March 2 as the country celebrated its first-ever win at the Oscars as film "I'm Still Here" picked up Best International Film.

The filmer told Newsflare: "The film 'I'm Still Here' has grown in recognition worldwide, filling all lovers of Brazilian culture with pride. When we root for something, we come together and make everything shake—just as we did virtually on the Academy's social media. This is Brazil's first Oscar-winning film that showcases Brazilian aesthetics, music, and the Portuguese language, making it extremely significant.

"I wasn’t the only one at the bar watching— the entire country tuned in. During Carnival, the biggest celebration of the year, we stopped everything to witness this victory.

"We paused parties, concerts, and parades—everything—to shout that we deserve this. True patriotism is embracing your country's culture, respecting its history, and ensuring past mistakes are never repeated."
