Sean Taylor (@seantaylorwx), a storm chaser based out of Norman, Oklahoma, lives for the thrill and responsibility of tracking severe weather. When he saw the 5/5 high rise on the storm risk scale, he knew that massive and destructive storms were headed.

Sean and his roommate embarked on a 12-hour car ride the night before, headed to Mississippi and Alabama to catch the storms. They were determined to be early reports and alert people, keeping them safe before things got out of hand.

When they reached Jackson, Mississippi, Sean was able to notify the NWS (National Weather Service), and within moments, a Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS) Tornado Warning went out, saving countless lives.

I am a Storm chaser based out of Norman Oklahoma, and when I saw that there was a 5/5 high risk I knew there would be massive destructive storms. My roommate and I embarked on the 12hr car ride the night before to get to Mississippi and Alabama to make sure we can chase these things and keep people protected if we could be the early reports of the tornadoes, and in this instance we were. I notified the NWS office in Jackson Mississippi of it and they put out a Particularly Dangerous Situation Tornado Warning (PDS Tor Warn)
