On March 29th 2025, the metro Denver area experienced all 4 seasons in one day. This was not surprising for Coloradans as Spring in the Rocky Mountains is known for dramatic and sudden changes in weather, often in a period of 24 hours. The day started off Sunny, then turned grey with thunderstorms in the afternoon. Some areas received a good amount of pea sized hail in the late afternoon while locations in the foothills of the Rockies started seeing the rain turn to massive, wet, snowflakes. This video was recorded just as the rain turned to snow in my neighbors backyard. You can see his dog enjoying the huge snowflakes in the background. Oddly enough, it was still above freezing when the snow started falling, which is another strange weather phenomenon that happens in Denver. We got over 1” of snow that night but it had melted by the next morning.
