A fisherman captured incredible footage after an alligator attempted to eat their GoPro camera.

David Frei, the filmer, told Newsflare: "We just saw the gator devour a massive snake on the shoreline (separate video). It looked like it was heading back out to open water, and I wanted to capture a 'Star Wars' type view of the gator swimming out.

"It went under the dock and, unbeknownst to me, make a B-line to the camera and BIT IT! It was GoPro on the head-strap, tied to my fishing line. Nothing else attached and I certainly wasn't expecting this. Luckily I got the GoPro back but unfortunately. the gator broke it."
