Mischievous porcupines scamper across enclosure with keepers' tools
Corto and Pinto, the mischievous porcupines, are in full mischief mode! Picture them scampering across the zoo enclosure, their quills bristling with excitement as they together seize a broom from a distracted zookeeper.
Corto, the bolder of the two, darts ahead, the broom clutched between his tiny paws, while Pinto follows closely behind, squeaking with delight. their short legs moving in a hilarious, clumsy fashion. The zookeeper turns just in time to see the duo running away, laughter bubbling up as she chases them gently, amused by their antics.
The duo occasionally glancing back with playful glints in their eyes, as if daring the zookeeper to catch them. They're filled with joy, enjoying their little adventure, embodying the spirit of fun as they carry off their prized loot—a perfect, whimsically hilarious scene of animal antics at the zoo!
This scene was filmed at Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary and Wildlife Centre in Lincolnshire whilst our keeper Lauren Steel was doing her regular duties of cleaning up the enclosure when Corto and Pinto our 20 year old Indian Crested Porcupines decided to help out with her job and sweep the paths of the enclosure. The frolics were captured on 20 February 2025 and filmed on the zookeepers mobile phone to capture this hilarious video.
