A dramatic video has emerged of marine police officers helping a man who fell intto the swollen Seine in Paris, France.

The footage, shot on Friday, shows an inflatable police boat approaching a man holding onto branches.

One of the officers can be seen jumping in the water to rescue the distressed man.

"It was around 8:30 this morning when I was called by a group of young people ending a party, all in dressed in costumes," the filmer wrote.

"Someone had fallen in the water and the marine police of Paris was on its way."

"A rescuer jumped in with a life-belt and helped him while the boat waited for them on the other side of the Sully bridge," she continued.

"A firefighter boat quickly arrived to transport the rescued person".

Il était aux alentours de 8h30 ce matin quand je suis interpellée par un groupe de jeunes qui terminait une fête, tous déguisés à la pointe de l'ile Saint-Louis, juste dessous le Pont de Sully, au square de l'Ile de France plus précisément. Une personne venait de tomber à l'eau et la Brigade Fluviale de paris était en route. Heureusement toute proche des lieux. La personne se raccrochait à des branches d'arbres et était compressée contre le Pont. Un sauveteur a sauté avec une bouée et est venu la secourir tandis que le zodiac de la police fluviale les attendait de l'autre côté du Pont de Sully pour les prendre en charge. Un zodiac des pompiers les a rejoint très rapidement pour transporter la personne.
