When 6-month-old Golden Retriever Charley found his first bunny in the yard, his family had no idea they were about to witness absolute chaos unfold.

After hearing their son yell, “Charley has a squirrel in his mouth!” Mom thought it was just a joke until she grabbed her phone, hit record, and found that Charley was carrying a live baby bunny around the house.
With obedience training in mind, Mom stayed calm to avoid sending Charley running, and when she finally opened his mouth, the tiny bunny fell out, still moving. Charley showed off his “leave it” command perfectly.

Despite hopes the bunny would hop away, it sadly didn’t survive, its nest had been completely dug up by Charley’s excited puppy instincts.

Mom had her phone in hand already and hit record to go find out what was in puppy’s mouth and was shocked to find out it was actually alive! When the family realizes he’s got a live animal in his mouth & has been parading it around the house, chaos ensues. Charley is still in obedience training classes. Mom knew she needed to approach him calmly so he didn’t run away faster. When Mom opens Charley’s mouth, a tiny baby bunny falls out. At first it appears the bunny was fine and moving. Mom hoped the bunny would get up and hop off. Charley demonstrated his trick “leave it” exceptionally well when Mom said to leave the bunny alone. When the bunny didn’t hop off. Mom stopped recording to asses the bunny. Sadly bunny had an injury and did not survive. And the rest of the nest was “unalived” when Charley excitedly dug it up. Hence the instagram caption “Gonna need to add 4 tear drop tattoos to this sweet face”.
