ISTANBUL, TÜRKİYE - MAY 25, 2025: Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was welcomed with an official ceremony by Turkish Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler upon his arrival at Istanbul Airport on Sunday, May 25. The visit marks the beginning of Sharif's four-nation diplomatic tour, with Türkiye as his first stop. During his stay in Istanbul, Prime Minister Sharif is scheduled to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Dolmabahce Presidential Office, where the two leaders are expected to discuss key issues concerning bilateral cooperation. According to Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, the prime minister’s six-day tour from May 25 to 30 will also include official visits to Iran, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan. The ministry emphasized that Sharif will engage in “wide-ranging discussions with the leaders of these countries on an entire range of issues covering bilateral relations and matters of regional and international importance.” The prime minister will also be attending the International Conference on Glaciers in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, to be held on May 29-30.
