A powerful hailstorm struck the town of Quinto in Zaragoza, Spain, on June 13, 2025, pelting the area with hailstones as large as golf balls and causing significant structural damage.

Footage posted by local resident Beica (@casaderusi) captures the storm's terrifying intensity—hailstones batter rooftops, smash car windows, and send people scrambling for shelter. The hardest-hit structures include buildings with asbestos cement roofs (commonly known as uralita), which were punctured or shattered by the force of the falling ice.

This storm highlights the increasing frequency and severity of extreme weather in the Aragón region. Just a year earlier, a similar hailstorm in Zaragoza resulted in damages exceeding 2.6 million euros.

Experts from Meteored attribute such events to supercell storms, which are capable of producing exceptionally large hail. The incident once again underscores Aragón's vulnerability to violent atmospheric phenomena and the urgent need for resilient infrastructure in rural communities.
