VARIOUS OF SMOKE RISING FROM HIT PLACETEHRAN, IRAN - JUNE 23, 2025: As explosions were heard in the Iranian capital, Israel announced the new missile barrage on Monday, June 23. It was claimed that the attacks targeted “military sites” belonging to Iran. Smoke rose after the attacks in the northern part of the city. One of the targeted areas was located near the Iranian Red Crescent building. The Israel Hayom newspaper reported power outages in southern areas in Israel due to damage to an electricity supply company following the attacks. Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Eli Cohen said that around 8,000 homes were left without electricity due to Iranian missiles in southern Israel. Israel and Iran have been engaged in aerial combat since June 13 when Tel Aviv launched a surprise attack on several sites across Iran, including military and nuclear facilities, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory strikes. Israeli authorities said at least 25 people have been killed and hundreds injured since then in Iranian missile attacks. Meanwhile, in Iran, at least 430 people have been killed and more than 3,500 wounded in the Israeli assault, according to the Iranian Health Ministry.
