The rally began at Malieveld in the early afternoon, drawing attention to the police's heavy-handed actions during a previous XR protest on June 25, when climate activists attempted to block the A12/Utrechtsebaan highway. Marching through the city, protesters proceeded toward the police headquarters on Burgemeester Patijnlaan, expressing solidarity with victims of alleged police brutality. Tensions escalated when authorities intervened to disperse the group, pushing demonstrators aside and forcibly detaining several individuals. As a result of non-compliance with police directives, multiple participants were detained for violating public assembly regulations.
