In a moment that’s equal parts hilarious and educational, a woman at Lake Arrowhead became hilariously interesting after mistaking duck mating for an attack, and launching a full-blown rescue mission.

According to footage shared on Instagram, she jumped into action when she saw a male duck mounting a female near the shoreline. Convinced it was a violent encounter, she called for backup, had her friend grab a net from a nearby fishing store, and even jumped into the water herself—despite signs clearly stating no swimming allowed.

A man on the dock eventually explained that what she witnessed was normal duck mating behavior, which can appear aggressive but is biologically typical. After the clarification, she calmed down—but not before becoming the unofficial “duck vigilante” of Lake Arrowhead.

This lady thought a duck was being attacked & was trying to “save” it. It was only mating & the man on the docks had to explain it to her. It looks like she finally calmed down but not after having her friend get a net from the fishing store & jumping in the water (where btw, there is no swimming allowed). A tough lesson to learn about how ducks mate.
